Privacy Policy

Jeune Espoir Education is a learning platform operated by Jeune Espoir. This policy explains what information may be processed when you use the platform and how that information is used to provide learning services.

1. Information we may process

• Account and profile: name, email address, and, if you choose to add them, a profile photo, phone/WhatsApp number, country, and short bio. Passwords created on the platform are stored in protected (hashed) form, not as plain text.
• Google sign-in: if you choose “Continue with Google,” we receive only the identity information you authorize Google to provide, including your name and verified email address. Your Google password is never sent to Jeune Espoir Education.
• Learning activity: course enrollments, progress, lessons viewed, quiz results, attempts, and other information needed to support learning records.
• Written responses and forums: your drafts, submitted answers and teacher feedback are saved in your account and available to authorized course teachers. If you choose to share a response, your display name and text become visible to authorized participants in the selected lesson, chapter or course forum. Comments follow the same visibility. Private teacher feedback stays private. You can withdraw sharing of your response in the forum.
• Payment and access: when needed to verify paid enrollment, the platform may process verification information such as a transaction reference or the number used for payment. Secret payment credentials are not requested.
• Technical data: session information, language preferences, online/offline state, recent activity time, and local data required for the PWA and downloaded courses to function. Recent presence is used for administration and is not shown to other learners.

2. How this information is used

We use this information to create and secure accounts, manage course enrollment and access, record progress and scores, provide offline functions, improve the learning experience, and maintain the operation and security of the platform.

3. AI Tutor

If the AI Tutor is enabled and you choose to use it, your question together with limited context from the current course, chapter, lesson, or screen may be sent to the AI provider to generate an educational response. The platform is designed not to deliberately send passwords, Orange Money information, or other payment data to the AI Tutor. The AI Tutor requires an internet connection.

4. Local storage and offline learning

The platform may use browser or application storage to keep courses, images, narration, activities, preferences, and progress on the device so that supported learning can continue offline. These local copies remain until they are removed, replaced, or cleared according to the application's behavior.

Connected written responses and forums require an internet connection. Private answers are not added to offline course downloads. If you export your answers, you control the resulting file.

5. Third-party services

To provide certain functions, Jeune Espoir Education may rely on third-party services, including Google for sign-in, an AI provider when the AI Tutor is enabled, the website hosting provider, and payment or payment-verification services used for paid courses. Those providers may apply their own privacy policies.

6. Retention and security

Information is retained as long as reasonably necessary to provide educational services, maintain learning records, meet applicable obligations, and protect the platform. We use reasonable technical safeguards to limit unauthorized access, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.

7. Correction or deletion requests

In My profile, you can change your display name and clear optional information (phone, country, bio and photo). The request form also lets you select data to remove while keeping your account: profile information, saved progress, quiz results, written responses and forum comments. Jeune Espoir verifies your identity before processing the request. Other data and course access are kept for partial deletion. New activity may create new records.

You may request correction or deletion of personal data associated with your account, subject to information Jeune Espoir may need to retain for administrative, contractual, or legal reasons. Request deletion of selected data or your account here, even without signing in. For other requests, contact Jeune Espoir through the official contact channels published at jeuneespoir.org.

8. Learners who are minors

When the platform is used as part of a program serving minors, use should be organized according to the rules of the relevant program or institution and any applicable parent or guardian permissions.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as platform features evolve. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page identifies the currently published version.
